Beginnings in Karting and Single-Seater Racing
1995 - 2003
From a very young age, Bruno had a true passion for speed.
After moving with his family to Quebec, he began racing karts in 1995 and quickly stood out as one of the most promising drivers of his generation. An Alsace champion, winner of national events, and a regular on European podiums, he built a reputation as a fierce, precise, and determined competitor.
The year 2000 was a turning point: he captured the title of French Elite Karting Champion, confirming his status as one of motorsport’s rising stars.
A few years later, he made the jump to single-seaters in Formula Renault, where his performances underlined his potential. Racing across Europe and North America, he stacked up victories and podiums, quickly catching the attention of major teams.
These early achievements laid the groundwork for what would become an extraordinary career.
Rise in Formula 3
2003 - 2005
In 2003, Bruno entered the Formula 3 Euro Series, a championship renowned for producing future stars of the sport. Competing on Europe’s top circuits, he faced a generation of highly talented drivers and stood out for his fighting spirit.
Even at that stage, he already had the backing of Mercedes, who strongly believed in his potential. But the season got off to a tough start: during pre-season testing, he suffered a serious accident that left him with multiple fractured vertebrae. It was a heavy blow that affected the rest of his campaign and temporarily slowed his rise.
Despite this setback, Bruno refused to give up. His courage and determination saw him return to the cockpit quickly and continue climbing the ranks. That experience forged in him an exceptional resilience — one that would become a defining strength throughout his career.
Step into DTM with Mercedes
2005 - 2012
DTM Triumph with BMW
2012 - 2019
In 2012, Bruno joined BMW for the brand’s long-awaited return to DTM. It was a risky bet… but the story turned out to be unforgettable. Driving for the BMW Team Schnitzer, he delivered an outstanding season highlighted by four decisive victories. Everything came down to the finale at Hockenheim: under immense pressure, Bruno rose to the occasion, clinching the crown and becoming DTM Champion.
That title — BMW’s first in their comeback season — remains a landmark moment in both his career and the history of the championship. For Bruno, it was also the culmination of years of hard work and the ultimate reward for his unwavering passion.
A New Chapter: Endurance, GT and Esports
2020 - 2024
After more than a decade at the top of DTM, Bruno broadened his horizons with new challenges. He proved himself in endurance racing and GT championships — disciplines where experience and strategy matter just as much as raw speed.
He has competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in IMSA in the United States, as well as in Super GT in Japan and the Italian GT Championship, where in 2023 he claimed the title of Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Sprint Champion.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Bruno stayed true to competition by venturing into sim racing. On the iRacing platform, he represented the BS+Competition team, taking part in numerous high-level virtual races. It was an experience that highlighted his undiminished passion for driving — and his desire to measure himself against the best, whether on a real track or a digital one.
These ventures confirmed his versatility and ability to shine across very different arenas, always driven by the same energy and passion for racing.
A New Era with Bugatti
2025 ...
In 2025, a new chapter begins. After 13 successful years with BMW, Bruno became a Bugatti Official Driver. He succeeds Pierre-Henri Raphanel and takes on the role of ambassador for a legendary brand synonymous with excellence and performance.
It is a powerful symbol: Bugatti is based in Molsheim, Alsace — just a few miles from where he was born. For Bruno, this partnership is both a return to his roots and an exciting new mission.
His role goes far beyond vehicle demonstrations: he embodies the Bugatti spirit at exclusive events around the world, shares his expertise with clients, and supports the brand’s global presence.
At the same time, Bruno remains a racer at heart. He continues to take part in karting races and various motorsport competitions, keeping alive the direct connection to racing that has shaped his entire career.
